Through the project at student level we wanted to achieve the following specific goals: -the learners to get acquainted with European innovative systems and good practices, in order to increase the quality of vocational training and faster and easier realization on the labor market; -improving the mastery of terminology in English; -improvement of skills for working with different types of business documents; - communication and intercultural dialogue in English; -improving the skills for decision making, critical thinking and problem solving and taking responsibility; - full development of the cognitive potential of the students; - formation in the users of adaptability and readiness to practice their profession on a national and transnational scale by raising the qualification; -preparation for active participation in the economic life in Bulgaria and the EU; -creation of habits in students for independent work as well as teamwork and implementation of specific tasks from the daily work of companies; -integration into the social environment and the requirements of the labor market of a united Europe; -spiritual and intellectual enrichment, getting acquainted with the culture and way of life of the host country.
A study was conducted in different areas of Bulgaria in order to define the needs of small and medium enterprises for specialists and staff. Employers identify some basic skills as vital and necessary for their employees. Among the most necessary and useful skills companies indicate the ability to communicate. The most valued are teamwork and leadership skills, ability to manage time, flexibility, competence, correctness, creativity. Next in importance, companies place the need for computer literacy and proficiency in at least one foreign language. The strongest competencies of the employees are the skills for communication in a multicultural environment, business correspondence and negotiations. The Bulgarian and European labor markets require a competitive workforce with high levels of knowledge and professionalism. The main goal of the project is to improve and upgrade the key practical knowledge, skills and competencies of students by conducting practice in a multicultural environment, linked to the real needs of business, to create qualified staff.
