We want to implement the project "Building the Young Digital Leaders of the Future" so we can build capacity in digital citizenship and leadership in 30 youth workers who will then work to empower the young people they work with in their communities by training them to become responsible young digital leaders. The project is crucial for the highly digitalised society which we all enter totally unprepared for the online threats- a society where every third user is a child or a young person; a society in which 50 % of the European teenagers share they have come into online threats they don't know how to deal with; a society where daily there are victims of cyber bullying, sexting, hate speech and negative comments, online attempts for child pornography, human trafficking and radicalisation through the social media, chat rooms and other online spaces. Being responsible youth and educational organisation we consider it our duty to work for informing our target groups( young people, students, parents and teachers) for these online challenges and to seek together ways for overcoming them. As Eurocommissioner Mariya Gabriel said in her video message for the final event of our previous project on the topic of digital youth work..."You can be the best champions of the positive digital change in our communities...Share your opinion, train the others and be active participants, not passive observers". That is why together with our partners we prepared this project with main objectives: - to build capacity in European youth workers who can later on contribute to building the young digital leaders of the future; - to improve the media literacy of the direct and indirect beneficiaries(young people, youth workers, parents and teachersq media, policy makers and other intererested stakeholders); - to encourage the critical thinking of direct and indirect beneficiaries by teaching them how to recognize fake and biased news, online challenges and threats; - to encourage effective online communication without hate speech by training participants how to respond to negative comments, through counter narratives; - to develope active digital citizenship by showcasing how online space can be used for positive online campaigns and causes; - to present European initiatives such as "Safer Internet" and "Meet and Code", European Media Literacy Week and other programs - to present and share useful digital tools for diversification and improvement of youth work; - to promote intercultural dialogue, international cooperation and exchange of information and experience on the topic; - to promote promoting cross-sector partnership and synergy between cultural education institutions and non-governmental organizations to achieve common causes; Our project meets the main goals and priorities of the Erasmus + program as well as the priorities for 2020 for the mobility of youth workers as our project contributes to: - acquisition of competences and methods for the professional development of the participants; - acquiring new knowledge, skills and methods for working with young people in the digital environment, necessary for the transfer of common fundamental values of tolerance, human rights and peaceful online and offline coexistence; -improving the media literacy, critical thinking and online positive activism amongthe young people(direct and indirect beneficiaries of the project) - reducing polarization in the society, hate speech, fighting media stereotypes and the threats of radicalization of young people through social media; -fostering intercultural dialogue through exchange of cultures among the nine partnering countries; -reaching marginalised young people coming from isolated and socio-economically disadvantaged European regions;
