In the period 14-21.07.2021 the youth exchange "All together for a common future", funded by the Erasmus + program of the EU, brought together 48 young people from 4 different countries - Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey and North Macedonia in Bansko, Bulgaria. Association Sports Club "Special Olympics - Pleven" held a youth exchange "All together for a common future" with the main goal to unite young people with and without different abilities, including young people with physical and mental disabilities and young people with fewer opportunities. The Special Olympics - Pleven Sports Club Association works to empower young people with various types of disabilities, as well as young people with social disabilities, and the team is aware of the importance of providing young people with various abilities with new international opportunities for personal and professional development. The youth exchange "All together for a common future" brought together young people with and without disabilities. During the 6-day youth exchange, young people work with methods and tools for storytelling. Storytelling provides an opportunity to tell real and fictional stories, conveying a message that reaches people's hearts. In today's world, young people are confronted with many disturbing stories that can have a negative impact on their self-esteem and discourage them from being proactive. Story-based methods and tools provide an opportunity to share stories that empower young people to make positive changes in their communities. In addition, storytelling offers the improvement of their competencies such as communication, active listening, self-presentation, but also problem solving or problem management. This means that during the youth exchange, young people had the opportunity to improve a set of individual competencies that they could use during their training or job search. In addition, the participants in the youth exchange "All together for a common future" got to know each other better, learned more about the realities of other countries. They shared their stories and explored life with and without different abilities. They have become more sensitive to stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination and more open to offering help to anyone in need. During the youth exchange, they created a series of stories and shared them on social media in order to make young people more sensitive to people with different abilities. By increasing the sensitivity of young people, the Youth Exchange "Together for a Common Future" has contributed to a more inclusive society free of stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination.
