'Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship' is one of the eight key competences of the European Reference Framework for Key Competences for Lifelong Learning, defined in 2006 by the European Parliament and the Council of Europe. It is "the ability of an individual to turn ideas into action. This includes creativity, innovation and risk-taking, as well as the ability to plan and manage projects to achieve their goals ”(EC, 2006). Generally, the concept of entrepreneurship implies the creation of a new business, self-employment or start-up. Therefore, youth entrepreneurship is a priority in the European policy, as it is one of the instruments for creating innovation, tackling unemployment, preventing social exclusion and therefore contributing significantly to the economic growth and the territorial cohesion. On this basis, the current project has been built up and it's main objective is "Promoting youth entrepreneurship in rural areas, in order to overcome the social exclusion of young people with fewer opportunities and to improve their living conditions respectively". The specific objectives of the project are: - Specific objective 1 "Increasing the knowledge, skills and abilities of young people with fewer opportunities in the field of entrepreneurship, including social entrepreneurship". - Specific objective 2 "Promoting the activity and the initiative of young people with a view to overcome the social exclusion from society by engaging them in activities for intercultural exchange and interaction". We all know that much of Europe's rural areas are underdeveloped, making life difficult for the population, especially young people, as they face many challenges: l- low standard of living; - long-term unemployment; - dependency on social payments; - low level of education; - lack of opportunities for further training and education; - low levels of remuneration; - inability to find employment in the specialty, etc. These problems particularly affect young people living in rural areas, and often they are the cause of their marginalization and social exclusion, which has a detrimental effect on themselves and the communities in which they live. LAG Panagyurishte, Strelcha, Lesichovo as an organization working fully in rural areas and for their development and well aware of the problems of "rural" life, decided to develop this project that addresses entrepreneurship in rural areas and proving that this is the way to overcome , to a large extent, the risk of social exclusion of young people, encouraging their initiative, creativity and activity by engaging in non-formal activities. The project envisages activities such as demonstration of good practices, role-playing game "I am an Entrepreneur", social entrepreneurship training and various workshops related to the theme of the project, their aim will be to prove to the participating youth that entrepreneurship in rural areas it is possible and can be successful and that it is through their initiative that they can live well and overcome many of the challenges of living in rural areas. In this way, in addition to their own development, young people will also influence the overall development of their rural communities. The project idea is fully in line with the priorities of the Erasmus + program, as it covers three main aspects - on the one hand, increasing the knowledge and skills of young people in the field of entrepreneurship through the methods of non-formal education, which is one of the specific objectives of the program, on the other hand, promoting their initiative and activity will lead to overcoming the risks of their social exclusion and, last but not least, through youth exchange, intercultural exchange and interaction will be achieved, it will help the social inclusion of young people. The results of the project will be: - enhancing the level of key competences and skills of young people with fewer opportunities living in rural or isolated areas through their active participation in activities for intercultural dialogue, active citizenship, social inclusion, entrepreneurial initiatives; - enhancing civic engagement and social inclusion by presenting good practices implemented in rural areas; - enhancing entrepreneurial initiative and increasing employment opportunities in rural areas by acquiring specific key competences, knowledge and skills.
