The youth exchange, lasting 9 days, is addressed to people searching for ways how to create a sustainable environment on local level, in which they are actively involved. We will offer participants means to develop their competences and qualities, as well as respect and support for every other participant, so that all of them can be aware of their own uniqueness while communicating with the vision of connection and building something together. We would like to give them space to share their identities within their own and other's cultures and to bring what is special about them - their professions, their dreams, their skills. We believe that this will also develop a sense of solidarity and tolerance in their approach. Another aim behind is to offer young people to see themselves capable of bringing change with their possibilities instead of limitations, and to do so through personal example. To escape from already non-working patterns and through critical thinking and adaptation to promote actively new eco-conscious way of life. The methods we will use are classic lectures and workshops, as well as experiential learning. To achieve this we will combine several activities and tools, such as practical assignments and personal and group challenges, outdoor activities, theatrical settings, etc. Objectives we want to achieve: - Bring and expand awareness of the environmental condition on the planet. What has and is happening, what are the consequences of our actions as humanity? - Know and practice sustainable living: the environmental, social and economic aspects of it. Show examples of working approaches and initiatives, inspire and provoke work on living ecologically and following the Zero-Waste philosophy. - Submerge the participants in the experience of authentic life as it is, away from technologies and artificial comforts of civilization: workwise and social wise. Bring them from the artificial man-made environment to reconnection with nature; experiencing the solitude, simplicity and vastness of living off-grid, with no digital technology at one’s disposal. - Experiencing manual labor in the sense of building, cooking, crafting with your own hands. What is it like to live, supporting yourself with your own creativity, labor and energy? Acquiring some hard skills like gardening, constructing, craftwork, cooking. - Forming and living in a community. Experience and understand what are real relationships between people, what happens if things slow down. How is it not to be in a rush and run away from difficulties and conflicts, hiding or locking inside one’s safe personal space and distracting oneself with media and other technologies? How to live not only as a single individual but as a part of a whole unit? How to make a community function good and in harmony, have a common vision, aim and be productive, support itself? How to communicate with, understand and acknowledge (accept) the uniqueness of other people, different than you? How to take decisions and work together? To develop skills at the level of promoting diversity of cultures and living together in peace. - Learn how to be proactive, build a support group and make a change on a local and national level. The link with Erasmus + objectives is mainly in the raise their awareness of social, economical and ecological (the 3 components of Sustainability) issues and possible solutions about the current situation in our environment and society, increasing tolerance, peace and cooperation in a community, acquire hard skills for a full sustainable way of life.
