By implementing the project, we wanted to give the opportunity to school teachers to get familiar with and apply innovative teaching methods and new teaching tools. A major target was to address new learning and teaching skills for the better integration of technology in teaching process, by focusing particularly to the use of tablets. In addition, we wanted to encourage them to exploit practical applications in the curriculum, assisting them to develop more creative, attractive and interesting courses.
In its response towards the growing demands of modern society, our school aims, in a powerful and innovative way, to meet the expectations of its students and teaching staff. In this context, to become even more effective, a micro research was conducted between the staff, helping to address the more urgent and significant needs for the school and the professional development of its staff. The results of this research were analysed in a staff meeting. The outcome of this meeting was clearly in favour of the integration of innovative teaching tools and methods, as well as ICT and tablets. Certain topics were selected, while the “Common Plan for School’s Improvement and Development”, along with the plan for “Teachers’ Professional Learning”, were both also drafted. The latter is promoted, both in and out the school, aiming at the improvement of the teaching and learning practices employed by teachers and of the learning results. In the same context, it has been decided to file an application to participate in Erasmus+ mobility program (KA1) about “Innovative teaching methods and new teaching tools in primary education”.
