Objectives

The main purpose of the project "Inspiring a healthy lifestyle to students" is the planning and implementation by all teachers of various activities and production of material through which children will have the opportunity to cultivate life skills related to the promotion of their mental, physical and social well-being, as life supplies, on the one hand with the development of personal and social skills and values and, on the other hand, with collective action to upgrade their social and physical environment. Through this specific program, we sought to achieve the following individual goals: Students to: 1. Discover all aspects of the self (physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual) and understand the need for balanced development 2. Realize the role of technological means in our lives but also their negative effects on people's health and well-being 3. Present through personal experiences the benefits that a healthy diet offers in all aspects of health 4. Recognize that art and creativity improve our lives and health.

Background

To strengthen the efficiency of our school unit, after conducting a small survey among the school's teachers, the most important and immediate needs of the school, regarding the professional development of the staff, were highlighted in a staff meeting. A key priority was set to inspire a healthy lifestyle in children especially during and post-Covid era. We have developed an Action Plan which also included the Professional Learning of Teachers which is promoted through in-service training by attending lectures by experts within the school, conducting and monitoring sample lessons and teacher collaboration, and participation in conferences and seminars of the Ministry of Education or other educational institutions. In the context of our Action Plan, it was decided to submit an application for mobility for Erasmus+ school education (KA1) with the theme "Inspiring a healthy lifestyle to students". After the approval of the specific program, we proceeded to select 6 teachers instead of 5 (as approved by the program) after a discussion with all the teachers of our school about the importance of teachers' training at the European level.
