The project aimed at bringing together young people from Europe and Africa to make them aware of climate change and desertification and ways to tackle the issues. The objective was to emphasise the relevance of these phenomena and to find sustainable solutions to mitigate their harmful effects. The participants were empowered to make an impact on the local, European, and international levels. The specific objectives were divided into three main levels: personal, collective, and practical: 1. Participants' reflection on the topic, their environmental practices, and their countries' environmental issues. 2. Encouraging participants to act pre-amatively to prevent the further degradation of the environment on the local level and if possible, to be agents of change on other levels. 3. Realisation of two concrete actions during the week of activities related to climate change and desertification. The project took place in Nefta, Tunisia, a small city located on the verge of the Sahara Desert. Thanks to that, the participants had a chance to observe the effects of desertification by experiencing the desert conditions. Moreover, they got to know the problems the inhabitants and communities living in such places face.
