Objectives

The project ''Training of Youthworkers on Human Rights" was a shared project of 8 NGOs from Cyprus, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Czech R., Romania, Poland, Slovakia. Later due to covid protocols Turkey was replaced by N Macedonia. The project aimed on providing training for youthworkers to increase awareness, competences and capacity on the topic of Human Rights. All partners understood the importance of the project due to the following current issues: 1.The recent global sociopolitical conflicts between and within countries: (a)2019 Turkish offensive into north-eastern Syria, (b) 2020 the crisis between Iran and the US 2.The great numbers of refugees movement due to war or of civil asylum seekers (The top countries by origin of asylum seekers in the EU since 2014 are Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan, all countries with recent or ongoing conflicts. Between 2014 and 2017, a total of more than 919,000 Syrians applied for asylum in the EU.) [source https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-44660699] 3.Youthwork can support HR Education especially when is related to refugees issues (from Toolkit for assessing health system capacity to manage large influxes of refugees, asylum-seekers and migrants from WHO, see annexes) 4.Changes to the societies in regards to basic themes: -Partners NGOs observed that locals and young people expressed insecurity with the ongoing change in the structure of the society. The arrival of refugees and civil asylum seekers seemed to be normal to bring out strange feelings to some locals. Youthworkers from partners mentioned they needed more tools and training how to facilitate the process to intercultural awareness and social inclusion -Some of the partners were involved into nowadays or previous times conflicts. Youth workers needed to be trained how to approach such issues and influence youths to recognize the human rights of peace/liberty/life not only for them but for others too, with main objective global inclusion and solidarity. Thus the need of the project is to facilitate the development of yw in order to: a)be more self-confident and enthusiastic when they cooperate with their peers, in intercultural settings b)design and run training on Human Rights when working with diversity c)be motivated on how to enrich their practice with innovative methods for supporting the inclusion of other marginalized youngsters d)provide new tools and ideas to manage more successfully solidarity in their region e)improve their creative and social skills and be further personally and professionally developed f)be developed further as mentors, practice designers and facilitators as well when working in local and international level. The aim: To offer opportunities of international cooperation and training through NFL to our 26 y.w to enhance the development their key competences on personal and professional level in order to be more able to work on HR education using Intercultural learning (I.L) as an educative approach. The importance of I.L is highlighted in T-KIT 4 (from EC and C. of Eu): Intercultural learning is an educational approach that can lead to social transformation, so that people from different cultural backgrounds can develop positive relations based on the values and principles of human rights and on seeing cultural differences as positive things. In long-term we aim to have this project as a reference point for other YW and NGOs through which (and its outcomes) HR will be promoted and supported based on I.L approach The Objectives of the TC for 26 y.w (22 with fewer opportunities): To 1.suggest and share practices from NFL which increase awareness on human rights 2.provide examples through NFL on how Intercultural learning can be an approach for embracing diversity and supporting human rights 3.train them how to design and implement NFL activities in intercultural settings for human rights education 4.develop basic key competences (social, intercultural, communication etc) using NFL activities for improving their practice as professionals 5.broaden opportunities of qualitative networking for supporting further social inclusion Objectives of Erasmus+: The project: a)supports mobility of y.w for developing them in personal and professional level. b)supports the recognition of skills and qualification of youthpass and europass CV c)Social inclusion, Equity and HRE will be in the core aims for this project d)aims on quality improvements in youth work e)inclusion of refugees The method and the tools: NFL within intercultural settings based on interactive learning.
