The main objective was to improve the language skills of the non-language teachers and the project coordinator for his work in the field of internationalisation of the school. For the language teacher, the aim of the individual mobility was to deepen and improve her pedagogical and didactic competences and to acquire modern and effective strategies and techniques in teaching. The aim was also to properly prepare and equip the teacher for the job shadowing activity at the foreign school and for the visits of foreign colleagues to our school. The aim was to link teaching with new activities and to promote cross-curricular relationships. In the area of peer support, the project aimed to provide maximum support to all teachers and to avoid individualism in the school; as well to strengthen relationships, collegiality and a friendly atmosphere in the school.
The priority of the project was to support and mentor foreign language teaching at Slezské gymnázium Opava, seen from the perspective of foreign activities and foreign cooperation of our school. The need was to strengthen the language skills of teachers for cooperation in foreign projects, where it turned out that the language barrier prevented their involvement in the projects. The project team needed new suggestions and topics to continue the international cooperation activities, as well as motivated teachers. Another priority was to continue in maintaining and developping a form of CLIL and tandem teaching in English in classes, including vocational subjects; to bring teachers to work more closely together and exchange experiences.
