Our goal in implementing the project was to establish long-term international contacts and thus provide our students and staff with both language and professional knowledge. We chose Barcelona for the internships because it is a more remote destination and the participants had the opportunity to gain a completely different experience than those known in and around our school. All participants had the opportunity to gain a great deal of new experience, which they then passed on to their colleagues and classmates. These acquired skills will help the pupils in their search for employment and have increased the demand for graduates from our school. For the school management and accompanying teachers, these newly gained experiences within the project are crucial for further international cooperation and the implementation of other international projects, and for the participants they are crucial for their future employment.
Our school is an important educational institution in the region, but we want to increase its European dimension. Establishing and maintaining international contacts helps the school to gain prestige. We wanted to make the teaching more varied and of higher quality based on international experience. The mobility programme has enabled us to improve the quality of education and to recruit new qualified staff for our region and county. One of the goals was also to increase the employability of our pupils on the labour market thanks to foreign experience and to increase the chances of applying their knowledge and skills abroad. All these were the main reasons why we decided to join the Erasmus+ programme.
