Objectives

The main objectives included development of key competences and skills of pupils beyond possibilities of normal teaching practice provided by the school, to bring pupils the opportunity to gain work experience in a foreign environment with a link to the expertise of their particular field, support for the newly opened field of Pre-school and extracurricular pedagogy. The objectives were also to improve quality of professional practice itself and to adapt practical training of the participants to the current needs of the labour market, to contribute to the improvement of language skills, development of communicative, social and personal competences, to be inspired by examples of good practice, to transfer know-how to the educational process and to modernise the educational process in the direction of matching the requirements of employers and competences of the school graduates. Last but not least, the aim was to familiarise the participants with the Italian culture and mentality, thus increase intercultural awareness and inter-community understanding. Finally, to use ECVET as a unifying European tool for recognition of learning outcomes and to contribute to improving quality and strengthening strategic international cooperation.

Background

The main reason for the application was the continuity of opportunities for foreign internships for our students. The positive impact on pupils' motivation to study, the change of attitude not only towards education but also the awareness of its impact on the quality of life, the reassessment of life values, i.e. overall personal development, was quite evident from the previous projects. Another reason was the expansion of our pupils' subject-specific skills due to the impossibility of providing some technologies and procedures at school practice - we consider practice as a core element of education. By extending such practice, the pupil deepens the ability to understand instructions, to schedule his work systematically according to them, to react promptly to possible changes, to cooperate in a team and to develop his own initiative. Last but not least, the reason was also the implementation of the European School Development Plan.
