Objectives

The objectives of our project were: 1. to gain professional experience with foreign companies; 2. work in tourism and gastronomy centres of European metropolis; 3. increasing the language competences of the pupils (professional vocabulary, but also the often-underestimated live communication; 4. the involvement and activation of the school teachers and the development of their competences; 5. the creation of cooperation at international level.

Background

The participation of our pupils in the mobility project was primarily to contribute to the improvement of vocational training at school and to the improvement of the language competences of our pupils. The project has been developed in relation to the defined key needs in the field of European mobility and cooperation on the basis of the Strategic School Development Plan and we consider the implementation of mobility as an excellent tool for fulfilling them. A significant problem we face in the functioning of our school system is the fact that our graduates are not sufficiently attractive for the current labour market. The reasons lie in many factors. The labour market is constantly evolving, innovating and reacting to social trends, developments and crises (e.g. the current pandemic or the war in Ukraine). Future graduates must therefore be prepared for changes, new requirements, and, if necessary, be willing to undertake further training or move for work. To put competitive graduates on the labour market, we need to start at school: innovate the content and form of education (curriculum content), encourage students to gain practical experience in the field - including abroad, and modernise and expand foreign language teaching.
