The main room for improvement in the school is from the system of organization to the contents of the teaching to a change in the way of carrying out compulsory professional practice. Our school has always reflected the needs of the region, responded to changes in demand on the labor market and existing companies in the immediate vicinity, while in the past there was a lack of a cross-border context. When preparing our students, we want to remove borders and raise them into experts who are competent and can respond promptly to demands abroad, but also know technological innovations and apply the knowledge gained to domestic conditions. Therefore, the personal experience of pupils and teachers is necessary not only from the working environment of the Czech Republic, but also from abroad. Thanks to this project, we started the process of including foreign internships in the school's stable curriculum, in addition to the offer of domestic companies, we can provide each student with experience from similar foreign companies. The goals of the project from the point of view of the participants, accompanying teachers, the school and other pupils of the school and the public were fulfilled as follows: From the point of view of the participants: they got to know the operation of a foreign company or a training centre, gained new knowledge from the professional field (see ECVET), improved their communication skills thanks to daily communication in English, had to independently express their opinions, understand the assigned tasks. Furthermore, they tried everyday life in a big city like Seville, they had to travel independently, plan their time - they became more independent, the self-confidence of the participants increased. Last but not least, thanks to this experience, they also expanded their social competences - they got to know the behavior of Spaniards, gained awareness of Spanish culture, monuments, way of life. From the point of view of accompanying pedagogues: they got to know the operation of foreign schools, the way of life in Spain, gained a greater awareness of Spanish culture. Due to communication in English, they have expanded their language and communication skills. Thanks to the presentation of the project, the school became more attractive to the public and other potential study applicants. Through the participants, the other students of the school gained new knowledge about Spain, the way of working and the running of a foreign school and are motivated to participate in the next mobility project - that is, to a greater interest in the field and better study results. The public became aware of the mobility project and the school itself became more aware of the public.
At SPŠS Vsetín, we want to expand our offer of professional vocational education, not only to include new Czech companies, but we also want to give students the opportunity to see the work style and technological equipment of foreign companies in the field they are studying. In this context, we decided to send 32 students of the third years of the field 23-41-M/01 Mechanical Engineering for a three-week professional internship in Spain, specifically in the cities of Seville and Jerez de la Frontera. The first group of students, consisting of 15 students, traveled in May 2022, the second group of 17 students in June 2022. A work stay in a foreign company will give our students the opportunity to get to know the technological or economic background in the Spanish environment, the way they work and last but not least they will also practice everyday communication in English and acquire the basics of the Spanish language with an emphasis on professional terminology, and in many stimulate interest in improving the language or motivate them to study another foreign language. By carrying out the project, we are continuing the tradition of regular foreign internships for our students. We want mobility projects to become an inevitable part of the school curriculum. We also want to follow modern trends in the area engineering and economics and business and to provide students with a professional internship at workplaces immediately. Our school will be able to prepare for possible new work procedures that appear abroad and have the potential to succeed in the Czech market; in this way, it will also increase the possibility of applying for students on the labor market.
