The main objective of this project was to deepen the professional competences of pupils and teachers through internships abroad. 1) Deepening the professional of the teachers, which was to contribute to maintaining the quality of education at SOUs, especially with regard to the close cooperation with Škoda Auto a.s. A total of 7 teachers were expected to participate in the form of shadowing. The project managed to implement a total of 13 short-term foreign internships focused on the professional development of teachers and school staff in the form of shadowing teaching. The experience gained abroad is then applied by the staff to develop teaching at SOUs. We consider this objective to have been met. 2) Deepening the professional knowledge of the pupils. A total of 49 pupils were planned to participate in foreign professional practice. The project was able to implement a total of 53 short-term foreign internships for school pupils, which undoubtedly contributed to the increase of professional knowledge, but also increased their intercultural competence, adaptability, knowledge of foreign language and new technologies and trends. This objective is also considered to have been met.
The project "Get to know and experience an internship abroad" was created not only as a continuation of three successful previous projects, but mainly on the basis of the strategy of Škoda Auto SOUs (hereinafter referred to as SOUs or school) 2017- 2022. The School's strategy for this five-year period focuses on several themes in the area of internationalisation. Central to this is strengthening and deepening existing cooperation with foreign partners, establishing new partnerships and increasing the number of foreign partners to ten. Another topic that is closely related to internationalisation is foreign internships, improving their quality and increasing the number of pupils and teachers completing internships abroad. The aim is to have at least 20% of the total number of pupils in the third year of studies and 20% of the total number of pupils in the fourth year of studies and 10% of teachers participating in a placement abroad each year. The third point focuses on improving the language level of school management, teachers and pupils. The last point is the introduction of new teaching methods, tools and technologies in the teaching of general and vocational subjects and vocational training. The last point is linked to the reorganisation of teaching and possible curriculum changes.
