Objectives

The main goal of the project is to increase the attractiveness of vocational education, our school and the fields of study taught at our school. Firstly, we expected to achieve this by implementing foreign work mobility for our students. Secondly, we increase the quality and relevance of teaching and learning by shadowing teachers at workplaces in foreign companies. Thanks to the job shadowing, the teachers had the opportunity to learn about procedures abroad and could compare them with the ones at home. Improving cooperation and sustainable development of this cooperation is another goal of our project. An important goal is also the evaluation of internship outputs. We apply ECVET for the evaluation of internships, and the fulfilment of some JVU, whether on an internship at home or abroad, is a requirement for passing the practical matriculation exam.

Background

We decided to apply for this project for several reasons, which are defined as priorities in ŠAP, KAP and which are based on the strategic framework of European cooperation. We mainly tried to increase the interest in the fields of study of our vocational school. The food industry is crucial to the functioning of any society. Due to the declining interest in vocational education, we perceive the Erasmus + VET Projects as irreplaceable for increasing the prestige of vocational education. From the experience of implementing our past projects, we know that the attractiveness of the school increases thanks to foreign internships. Another reason is the effort to increase the quality and efficiency of our teaching, we fulfill this by teachers' visits to companies, the arrival of specialists and ECVET applications. Internships contribute to opening the way for students and graduates to the foreign labour market, support foreign mobility of the workforce and enable the establishment of professional and personal contacts. A number of our interns maintain these contacts and use them for their work activities on part-time jobs and employment relationships. The advantage of a foreign internship for domestic employers is also important.
