Objectives

By implementing the project, we wanted to improve the quality of the teaching of professional subjects and professional training, especially in the field of hybrid drives and electromobility (automotive electrician, electromechanical mechanic and electromechanic). Furthermore, to gain experience with the ECVET system applicable in regular teaching at vocational training and with teaching where pedagogues teach theory and practice at the same time, to transfer good experiences from schools in a similar direction (for example, with the form of practical high school diplomas, management of high school graduation exams, cooperation with companies). We directly wanted to support and motivate students who are at risk of school failure for various reasons, to get ideas on how to work with them at school so that they can master the curriculum and school attendance. Last but not least, we focused on the teaching of professional English and its inclusion in school educational programs, not only in theoretical teaching, but also in professional training.

Background

While planning the project, we worked with the needs of our school, which were included in the Strategic Development Plan, which also includes the European Development Plan. The teachers of vocational subjects and vocational training, the school counseling office and the school management participated in it, the plan also reflected the requirements of the founder, the Transport Company of the Capital City of Prague, a joint-stock company (hereinafter referred to as DPP). We focused on the areas of electromobility, improving the quality of teaching vocational subjects, teaching professional English, supporting beginning teachers, gifted pupils and those at risk of school failure. Then we wanted to improve the conditions of education at our school, improve the quality of teaching vocational subjects and motivate pupils and teachers to education beyond the ordinary framework. We also wanted to strengthen the school's position in relation to the founder by ensuring that graduates would be able to respond to the latest trends in the automotive and electrical fields. We discussed the project with foreign partners with whom we have already worked in the past, so we had a clear idea from the beginning of what was feasible.
