Objectives

We were seeking to develop the members of our organizations, leading to a rise in the quality of educational activities we host. This project fostered quality improvements in youth work, in particular through enhanced cooperation between organisations in the youth field (sharing best practices). We improved the level of key competences and skills of those active in youth work or youth organisations and youth leaders and we wanted to equip youth workers with competences and methods for their professional development needed for transferring the common fundamental values of our society The issues we found were: - Junior trainers of NGOs lack the ability to create educational activities using non-formal methods - Inability of youth works to transfer informative topics to youngsters and to keep their attention - Struggling to attract youth to education - activities are usually not enough “fun” and “cool” for them to join - NGOs don’t have enough experience with transferring information through games and simulations - the results are unpredictable - Lack of confidence while delivering interactive workshops and running debriefings amongst youth workers Following on discussed issues, we could recognise our needs:: - learn and practice non-formal education methods - Learning innovative tools to attract youth to education; - Handling the group learning experience in a proper way to ensure the learning outcomes and promote education over the “fun” part of the activity; - Ability to design an interactive learning experience with limited resources; - Adjusting forms of presenting complicated subject in more simple way. Therefore our objectives were: - turning business/formal trainers and teachers into non-formal professionals - learning and non-formal education: approaches, conditions, models, factors, processes - meeting the learning needs of the target group, ensuring relevance of activities and delivering proposed impact. - practical tools and methods for designing, facilitation and assessment of educational activities - development and testing of own educational modules with/in front of a group - practice in feedback, empathy, coaching and communication skills - partnership-building and the development of follow-up activities
