Objectives

The project “Finger-travelling” will consist of one activity – a youth exchange. It will gather young people from 4 European countries in the Czech Republic in July 2020. The project will take place next to our beautiful campsite on a bank of the river Lužnice near to Tábor. The participants will explore other cultures as well as their own, learn about the concept of culture and xenophobia and organize their own "national day" to show the others what it's like to live in their country. They will this way also gain skills useful for youth work, they will be able to organize an educational session, which they will use to promote the project when they come home. By connecting the intercultural values with the skills to work with people we will give the young people the potential to promote positive social change, promote intercultural dialogue and break down prejudices. We will motivate them to be more active in the society and to multiply the effect of the project by organizing promotional activities. Objectives of the project: 1. To work with the values of young people related to intercultural tolerance and fighting against xenophobia and racism, break cultural stereotypes. After the project, the participants will have knowledge about concrete cultures as well as about culture in general. 2. Work with the skills of participants to lead an educational activity and to facilitate a learning process of others. After the project, the participants will be able to lead educational sessions and take active part in youth work. 3. To carry out one promotional session in the local area during the project and at least two more in each country after the project has ended – that means minimum 11 activities. This way work with the people in the local areas and make them more tolerant to other cultures and help them see the value of intercultural diversity. 4. Raise the capacity of the partner organizations by making more young people interested in their work and by sharing with them mutually practices related to intercultural learning, youth work and organization of Erasmus+ projects.
