Objectives

With this project, which we planned to carry out in summer 2020 before pandemic, we wanted to achieve on a side of involved participants, workers and communities the objective of promoting European diversity, intercultural and linguistic experience along with enhancing sense of initiative and social inclusion. We wanted and we did engage 42 disadvantaged youngsters from 7 countries (Estonian partner replaced by youngsters from Ukraine /refugees/ and extra participants from other partners), from North, South, East and central Europe aged 15-17 (contrary to former age 13-15 changed due to pandemic and other restrictions) in Erasmus+ project for most of them first time. As a linking activity we formerlyplanned to use Dai Sho Jutsu sport but due to pandemic delay (project managed 2 years later) and also due to change of location from Stare Splavy near Ceska Lipa to Liberec we used the opportunity and advantages of Liberec and surrounding Jizera Mountains and the linking activity were various outdoor sport activities matching original goals of promoting respect for others as well as for oneself. Another objective was to engage newcomer youth workers with the aim equipping them with competences and methods for their professional development, particularly involving disadvantaged participants in international mobility as well as enhancing their greater understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity and increasing their ability to address the needs of the disadvantaged. We also wanted to carry out this project to promote multiculturality and tolerance towards diversity and social inclusion among local communities (ours and partners ´) and increase understanding of today´s EU values along with promoting Erasmus + and benefits of international mobility as a way to improve one´s competences and skills, personal growth, self confidence all leading to better targeting the career path options and motivating to further study and engage in international projects. On a side of involved organisations we wanted to carry out this project to increase our capacity to operate on international level, improve our management skills, reinforce the cooperation with the partners from other countries, enhance our capacity to integrate good practices and new methods into our daily youth work especially towards disadvantaged.
