Objectives

The aim of all activities was to improve the quality of the educational process and increase the employability of pupils on the labour market. For students of gastronomic disciplines, the aim of the project was to learn the processing and preparation of typical Portuguese, Slovenian and Maltese ingredients, dishes and drinks and then use this knowledge in practice in subsequent events held by the school. Internships of students in the field of Design and Creation of Ceramics were focused not only on the use of new, less common techniques and procedures, knowledge of typical decors, their history and symbolism, but also on modern trends in the production of Modrana ceramics. All this knowledge was used by the creation of own product. The economic aspects associated with the promotion and sale of ceramics were included too. Thanks to internships, students of Information Services and Management and Marketing Communication have expanded their skills in the use of foreign-language dictionaries, databases, software and technologies used in marketing, design, archives and libraries. In addition to acquiring professional skills, language, social and ICT competences were also improved.

Background

The project was focused on increasing the school prestige, its attractiveness for current and future pupils and streamlining the educational process. The implemented mobilities responded to the current needs of labour market, which requires professionally erudite, flexible, independent, multilingual workers. The aim was to develop the professional and language skills of pupils in order to prepare them not only professionally, by increasing their prerequisites for further studies and chances for employment on a regional and international scale, but also for their life in the Czech Republic and abroad. It was important to streamline and improve the quality of practical education and ensure above-standard education of pupils, expand their professional knowledge, language skills and facilitate their participation in the international labour market. The project was focused on the competencies whose development was for us impossible or financially unrealistic. Unique was the opportunity to get to know current trends in the field, learn to use new, less common techniques and procedures, databases and software and the opportunity to compare skills acquired at workplaces in the Czech Republic and at school with foreign workplaces.
