Objectives

The objectives were set in accordance with the valid documents of the school, i.e. mainly the Internationalization Strategy, the Continuing Education Plan for teaching staff and the School Action Plan. In particular, the objectives were to gain work experience in an international environment; to improve language skills in communicating in English; to support teachers in their professional, career and personal growth; to improve the quality and effectiveness of teaching in our school; to increase pupils' motivation to learn foreign languages; to improve the school climate. Other goals include increasing international partners, increasing mobility for pupils and teachers. The prevention of burnout syndrome (for teachers) and informal vocational training in an attractive environment are undoubtedly added value. The mobility also aims to relieve pupils of shyness, boost their self-confidence, teach them how to speak and communicate professionally, and encourage them to work as a team. The project also aimed at raising awareness of the EU and democratic values, active citizenship. Especially these topics are very topical nowadays, at the time of applying for the grant nobody knew what kind of conflict would happen (war in Ukraine).

Background

The project of the Secondary Vocational School of Trade and Services, Olomouc, Stursova 14 is based on the Internationalisation Strategy and the European Development Plan and aims primarily at supporting lifelong learning, preparing pupils for life in a democratic society, tolerance towards other ethnicities and respect for human rights. Thanks to the projects, participants will acquire new knowledge and skills, broaden their horizons and improve their communication in English. The school's ambition is also to gradually expand the network of partner schools. As the mobility activities are very well evaluated by the regional authority, the trainees, their parents and our partners, we are interested in continuing these activities. Pupils are encouraged to be tolerant, considerate, to assert themselves and to create friendship. All these aspects improve the school climate. At the same time, the school manages to implement the results into the thematic plans of the different subjects, topics are included that correspond to current events in the world. This is also one of the reasons for the implementation of mobility. Thanks to all the activities, the school is becoming more widely known and building a strong position in the region.
