The project objectives were based on the EIS plans: - send the planned number of participants abroad and strengthen cooperation with foreign partners, - to increase and deepen the professional, linguistic and cultural competence of all participants (students and teachers), - to supplement professional education with the possibility of continuous professional practice abroad as part of short-term (2-week) mobilities, - enable graduates to verify the acquired professional and language skills and knowledge as part of a long-term internship abroad, - to expand the professional and language competences of teachers of professional subjects in the framework of shadowing for a duration of 2 weeks according to their professional focus at partner organizations. In order to ensure quality, the ECVET system was used in the planning and actual implementation of the individual mobilities, which outlines the activities that were the content of the professional internship and were in accordance with the content of the vocational education of the pupils and the qualifications of the teachers. The content of shadowing for most teachers coincided with the content of the students' professional practice, only it was more detailed and demanding.
The reason for submitting the project entitled From the Borders to Europe was the fact that completing a foreign internship corresponds to school educational programs that incorporate continuous professional experience into professional teaching. Mobility realized abroad through the Erasmus+ program thus complements teaching not only from a professional point of view (students and teachers get to know the course of practice abroad - with new procedures, methods and acquire new knowledge and skills), but also from a linguistic point of view (students and teachers improve in communication in a foreign language - solve work and everyday situations in the language of mobility, overcome barriers) and cultural competences (students and teachers strengthen their sense of European belonging through getting to know another culture and the mentality of the inhabitants of the given country). The project fulfills the plans of the EIS, it was intended primarily for all school pupils (Strední průmyślová škola Hranice has secured work placements with one of the foreign partners for all fields of study and teaching), but at the same time it enabled the professional development of school staff, especially teachers of vocational subjects.
