The project aims to support the quality of University education, moreover it covers also other fields. The outputs in form of interactive education materials for faculties of sport, more specifically for the fundamental subject which is gymnastics, will be created based on international cooperation of professionals in the given field. The main goal of the project is to support the quality of combined and distance education and thus minimize the impact of the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, however, by introducing gymnastics, which is mandatory for the target group of students, will contribute to quality education. The content of the materials will reflect both methodological and scientific approaches. The project supports international cooperation of experts from partner institutions. The cooperation is expected to share knowledge and education methods which will result in the quality of project which will include innovative methods usable in distance learning or self-study. The quality will also be ensured by the evaluation results as well as by an independent expert´s review. The forethought consolidation of curriculum and use of education materials in mother language of partners or in English will lead to solution of problems with acceptance of subjects studied during ERASMUS programs. Also, education materials available to general public in OPEN ACCESS regime will be created. Apart from these, they will be presented to teacher of other universities from all participating countries. The created interactive education materials can be used by other institutions which are not included in the project.
The aim of the project was to strengthen the ability of physical education universities and other organizations to provide high quality education in the field of gymnastics, which is generally accepted by experts as one of the basic pillars of physical education, through the creation of innovative materials available in OPEN ACCESS mode, usable both in face to face and combined or distance learning.
We applied for the project because of the obvious need to support the teaching of artistic gymnastics at universities, especially because of the negative impact of covid on the educational process of students, especially in terms of practical subjects. The project was conceived so that students with limited practical learning, either due to unpredictable events or due to a combined form of study, could optimally prepare for a practical class in the gym and thus optimize the motor learning process. However, in addition to distance practical and theoretical preparation, we also wanted to focus on supporting and improving the effectiveness of gymnastic lessons in all their forms, as it is a sport where the individual acquires basic motor skills that can be used in all other sports. Based on the many years of the project partners' experience with gymnastics at the top and school level, we perceive problems with its inclusion in lessons during the last years due to the lack of physical preparedness of students, fear of injuries, etc... With this project we also want to contribute to overcoming these barriers that create obstacles for teachers and students on the way to gymnastics.
