Objectives

The motivation for the project largely coincides with its goals. These consist essentially of the following: - Increased competence of the trainees through the preparation and the subsequent internship and further professionalisation. - The practical support of the trainees during their EU internship contributs to an expansion of knowledge about different education systems and their consolidation. - Likewise, there is an increase in public discussions within and outside of the school, in educational course conferences and in cooperating practical institutions of the vocational college. - The topic of Europe is thus also given greater consideration in the school profile and also attracts future trainees to the vocational college.

Background

The aim of our EU placement was and is to develop and promote key intercultural competences in the vocational training of educators. Strategies for action learned in training are to be tested in a foreign environment/an educational approach and applied in a modified way. The trainees get to know new techniques and methods of educational work that are practised in the respective partner institutions. Through this process, the participants' personal competence as well as social competence, factual and methodological competence and intercultural competence can be expanded. Another important effect is the positive experience of spatial mobility and the resulting access to extended European training and vocational education sections. The Archdiocesan Vocational College works in close coordination with the European internship centres regarding the joint development of learning tasks, the preparation and accompaniment of the interns and the follow-up of the internship.
