Objectives

We send trainees from dual vocational training, usually from the second or third year of training. For these 18 to 20-year-old students, we offer the opportunity to add an international component to the well-founded and recognized training in Germany. The selected students are usually high school graduates in vocational training, or good secondary school students who are completing an apprenticeship in the dual system. In addition to technical ability and performance, we also pay particular attention to the social skills and initiative of the interns. As a result of the project, we expect that the professional skills will be expanded to include the ability to work successfully with foreign colleagues in a foreign-language environment. Also the The ability to integrate into an unfamiliar team and to communicate professionally promotes the chances of trainees on the job market and is therefore an important goal of our project. In addition to the many new impressions and processes, there is also a significant increase in the self-confidence and self-esteem of our interns. (google translator)

Background

The cluster project for aerospace has its origins in 2007. BBS Rinteln is in contact with CFA Marcel Sembat in the Haute region via this project and the Lüneburg state school authority Normandy with its partner companies in Rouen in 2007. An exchange was agreed at mutual events, which was successfully carried out in 2008. After the positive results for the young trainees were noticeable when they applied to the first job market, we decided to also aim for an exchange project with the Lower Saxony partner region Andalusia in southern Spain. In 2010, contact was made with the founding of I.E.S. Antonio Salva in Palma del Rio, southern Spain. In 2012, a regular exchange of trainees was started and the project was thus expanded to include another European partner. After the BBS Rinteln had enabled a total of almost 160 trainees from the field of aircraft technology to do an internship abroad, other departments of our school decided to make students an offer abroad. Contacts were made with schools in Denmark, Great Britain and Ireland built up. (google translator)
