Objectives

The aim for skilled workers and trainees was predominantly to advance the acquisition of practical knowledge in real companies abroad. In the daily experience of the operational environment with other concepts, one's own professional horizon was to be broadened. An important goal was the promotion of independence and the further development of one's (professional) self-esteem and thus the development of one's own personality. In addition, the institution itself should also benefit from the internships, as the experiences gained have a direct influence on one's own work and this is thus also inevitably developed further. The Federal Participation Act, deinstitutionalisation, decentralisation, etc. need a different approach and a rethinking of one's own actions. This is what we wanted to achieve with our internships and educational stays with the staff. Through so-called transfer sessions, the experiences made should be able to be brought into one's own institution and thus secure the results.

Background

Basically, we wanted to achieve results on 2 levels with the project. 1. on the participant level, we wanted to develop all participants and offer them the opportunity to gain qualifications. Through the stay abroad, the participants should be able to develop professionally and personally and bring their experiences into the institution. The organisation of the internships should develop the organisational skills of all participants and lead to personal maturity. This was especially related to trainees. Skilled workers and trainees were to further qualify themselves professionally during the stay and learn new contents of the work. On the one hand, we wanted to advance the institution professionally (deinstitutionalisation and professional competence), but we also wanted to make an immense contribution to internationalisation and a European community of values. In exchange with the partners, we wanted to develop a common European perspective on various factors of our work and thus make a contribution to a European community of solidarity.
