Objectives

1. To improve the individual English language skills. Although the pupils in the vocational school have had English lessons in the course of their education the weak pupils need competence training in English. When they live in a foreign country and when they have to work there during an internship they are forced to use the English language actively to reach their goals. 2. To learn the teaching and educational methods for the infantile bilingual education. The participants recognize the visual and auditive possibilities for toddlers and nursey school children to learn a foreign language. They experience the great potential of the willingness to learn in the nursery school age und how they can use the thirst of knowledge without force in the best way. 3. To broaden the cultural horizon of the participants. 4. To boast the knowledge inquisition and the open-mindedness and the enthusiasm about Europe.

Background

While in other departments, like the vocational school for hotel and tourism management, internships in different parts of Europe are established, the vocational school for nursery nurses is at the beginning of this development. In the sector of child care and education there are enormous differences in Europe, especially between Spain and Germany. The development in quality at the Vocational School Center Waldkirchen is closely connected with internationalisation. The strategies for internationalism assume that pupils get to know different learning and teaching methods which they can put into practice in internships, they assume that they improve their language skills and that they get in contact with European institutions. In the best case these institutions might be an opportunity to get a job. These strategies for internationalisation were put into practice also at the vocational school for nursery nurses because flows were already organized to Spain. Due to the claim of an infantile education of the English language in the BEP (Bavarian educational and teaching plan) a bilingual nursery school in Spain that teaches the foreign language English in the infantile education as a teaching goal was searched.
