A central goal of our project with regard to the planned secondments of graduates of the above-mentioned full-time training occupations is to improve employability on the labor market. However, this employability is hardly given for the majority of the participants before the measure. Especially the graduates of the commercial assistant professions, are often generally denied the occupational ability, because they lack professional practice, important professional, linguistic and social skills. The planned measures address the training needs of the participants and thus make it possible for them to enter the world of work. Our central goal, the good employability of the participants on the first labor market, is achieved by the acquisition of international competences, foreign language experiences, intercultural knowledge, international work experiences. To this end, participants usually complete a 6- or 26-week job-related commercial internship in a European target country. They acquire linguistic, intercultural, personal and social competencies as well as job-relevant skills, without which it is very difficult for them to find an adequate job in their learned profession. Thus, we see the need of the target group in a linguistic, personal and job-specific qualification to increase the employability on the local, national and international labor market. Both in the area of part-time occupations, which will participate in mobilities for the first time from 2022 ( planned 2021, but the start had to be postponed due to the Corona pandemic), and in the area of educational personnel, the internationalization of training content and the development of a European identity are in the foreground. Another central goal is to promote the needs for support, but above all the mobility of young graduates from the structurally weak regions of eastern, northern and central Hesse, since in these regions training-adequate jobs are only available in very small numbers, and the graduates must consequently be mobile and very well trained in order to be able to survive on the national and international labor market.
The Friedrich-List-Schule has been carrying out mobilities in the various program generations for over 25 years. The Friedrich-List-Schule, as a provider of the full-school training program for foreign language secretarial assistants, achieved an upgrading of this training in the area of linguistic competence and work experience by carrying out a large number of internships abroad. In the meantime, the program has been extended to various professional groups and has established itself in the organization chart of the educational institution. Therefore, funds have been applied for again in 2020 in order to facilitate internships in other European countries together with our partner organizations in Spain, Malta, Ireland and Great Britain for our target groups (trainees and graduates of the commercial assistant professions with a focus on foreign language secretarial and office management, as well as the part-time vocational students from the fields of IT clerks, office management clerks, warehouse logistics specialists, retail and wholesale clerks, notary and administrative clerks). Furthermore, this project supports the language training needs of our colleagues in English and Spanish and promotes the European identity of all our participants and our educational institution in particular. The Hessian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs has also officially commissioned the Friedrich List School, as the sending organization, to make participation in the projects possible for graduates of other Hessian vocational schools who do not feel able to carry out their own corresponding projects.
