In addition to the professional exchange during the internship and the associated language acquisition, there should also be a cultural exchange. Professionally, the students should learn to cope with unfamiliar work situations (e.g. work organization, dress code, communication, hierarchy, etc.). Linguistically, both technical and general language competence should be developed in all four areas (reception, production, listening comprehension, mediation). Culturally, they are to immerse themselves in the foreign reality of life and also learn about values, norms and behavior beneath the surface. The project is divided into three phases: Preparation, implementation and follow-up. On the one hand, preparation takes place in regular classes. Organizational questions are discussed at separate information meetings. The cultural preparation takes place as a project or compact seminar during the school year and at the beginning of the stay abroad. The implementation is carried out primarily by our partners and internship companies abroad.
The Friedrich-List-Berufskolleg has the school profile Language - Business - Computer Science. In the mission statement of our school the European idea is also anchored. Consequently, the acquisition of foreign languages and European teaching units are established in many classes. With the establishment of the courses for commercial assistants with a focus on foreign languages and industrial clerks with the additional qualification of commercial EU competence (IHK), we have firmly established the possibility of an internship abroad and would like to continue this in the future.
