As a vocational school, it is our goal to give our students a good start in their professional life and to show them perspectives for personal and professional development. Due to the increasing internationalization and networking, the ability to cooperate, flexibility, mobility, foreign language competence, intercultural communication, and a sense of responsibility for the environment are expected in addition to job-specific knowledge and skills. Graduates of vocational schools in particular have little opportunity to gain practical work experience during their training. No matter how comprehensive the training, it cannot fully reflect the requirements of the working world. Therefore, it seems to us indispensable as a vocational institution to be internationally networked and to make "internationality" as tangible as possible in the vocational and school environment, or to arouse interest. Especially young people with a non-academic background are less likely to dare to go abroad on their own. In this project, we also attached importance to encouraging supposedly "weaker" trainees to take this step.
Participants: Vocational graduates in the natural sciences and technology were given the opportunity to spend a learning period in the European Education Area. They were placed individually for an average of 14 weeks in research laboratories / companies to work on current research projects. They were to broaden their practical experience abroad to develop their professional qualifications, linguistic and intercultural competences. The participants should get the opportunity to get to know other life concepts and to find their way on their own in an unknown environment. Their personality development should be promoted and their horizons broadened Partners: The project partners (host institutions) were given an insight into the training of the interns and the opportunity to work with well-trained professionals. In addition to the individual support of young graduates, the project promoted closer cooperation between training institutions in the laboratory sector within the European education area.
