The objective of the project "Berufskolleg Lübbecke goes abroad" was to improve our networking on a European level in connection with an increase in the rate of mobility abroad. For this purpose, we wanted to look for new partners in order to offer our students various opportunities for a learning experience in a country where a foreign language is spoken. We succeeded in doing so with the AClass Academy of English in Pembroke and the ADC College in Dublin. The target group for the assignments were, on the one hand, full-time students (health-social and commercial-administrative courses, 17-19 years old), whom we wanted to give the opportunity to complete an internship in an attractive professional field abroad and thus gain initial (or - in some cases - further) professional experience. On the other hand, we wanted to offer our part-time students (trainees in the commercial-administrative field, 18-21 years old) the opportunity to broaden their experience in a challenging environment in addition to their experience in the respective training profession. Furthermore, we offered our teaching staff a motivating and attractive opportunity for further training, which makes BKLK an attractive place to work.
Berufskolleg Lübbecke (BKLK) would like to offer its students various options for broadening their horizons of experience as well as to broaden their qualifications in linguistic, professional and personal respects. In addition to shaping their non-professional personality through experience with the regional and cultural characteristics of their host country, the participants are to acquire improved opportunities when entering the workforce. In this way, they should be available to the region's demand for skilled workers as linguistically and mentally mobile learners with a certain amount of experience abroad. Berufskolleg Lübbecke thus presents itself as an attractive learning location with a European profile.
