With WELD 2.0 we wanted to meet the need for intercultural qualification and offer participants without experience in English-speaking countries an appropriate opportunity. At the same time, it served to promote foreign language qualification through on-site encounters. Thirdly, we aimed for continuity in our offer of an internship abroad. Fourthly, WELD shall help us to get closer to the Certificate for International Professional Mobility.
This project is a follow-up to the previous DWELL (2016) and WELD (2018) projects, continuing a positive development over several years in the range of international activities offered at the Kaufmännisches Berufskolleg. WELD 2.0 was applied for as an activity to further promote the development of an international profile of our vocational college and to continuously show our students the perspectives and working worlds beyond the German-speaking area. The aim was to make this offer a long-term one. Due to the Corona pandemic, no mobilities took place in the years 2020 to 2022 and only one trip was carried out in 2023 in the course of an approved extension.
