The overall goal of this project was the internationalization and europeanization of Nuernberg’s VET colleges and schools. 1. Institutions without experience in Erasmus+ could get professional support in how to organize and fund Erasmus+ mobilities. They could gather experience in making contact with other VET colleges and companies all over Europe to build up a network of professional relationships. In effect all our VET students have had the opportunity to take part in an Erasmus+ Mobility and should have been able to improve their professional competences by staying abroad. 2. Apart from that we aimed to connect the different international activities among Nuernberg’s VET colleges and to create an international network of institutions in the Metropolitan region Nuernberg, Fuerth, Erlangen. In this context the department of VET Colleges in Nuernberg provided support for new initiatives and ideas.
The City of Nuremberg is well-known for international trade fairs and very popular among tourists from all over the world. This fact leads to the need for apprentices and staff/teachers being highly competent in terms of intercultural awareness and who are offered the possibilty to enhance their professional as well as their language skills by taking part in mobilty projects within Europe. Since 2014, the Department of VET Colleges in Nuremberg has been responsible for combining and organising international and European mobility projects with focus on vocational education which will be enlarged and continued in the future.
