Objectives

We improve the chances of participation in the working life of our disadvantaged students by giving them professional and practical insights into international professional fields in order to enable or improve their participation/inclusion in working life, they are also given professional and practical insights into international occupational fields that improve their professional qualifications. We strengthen our willingness to innovate and thus our future viability by expanding trans-international partnerships, which gives us further development and competitive advantages. We will strengthen the international reach by expanding and improving the foreign language offer and international encounters at our school. We are up-to-date and provide our trainers and teachers, more international skills. We benefit from our concept of international qualification of our specialists.

Background

In our state of Baden-Württemberg there are basically good employment opportunities and prospects for school leavers. Nevertheless, the professional integration of people with physical, mental and social-emotional impairments remains difficult. For example, the demand for qualified specialists has risen continuously in recent years but the demands on applicants are often so high that the group of people with impairments could only benefit from it to a limited extent and is not sufficiently taken into account. While companies in the industrial sector still manage to fill their training positions quite well. There are large gaps between the training positions offered and the number of applicants, particularly in the skilled trades and agricultural professions, as well as in certain service areas, so that many training positions remain vacant. This results in good opportunities for people with disabilities to integrate into the labor market, especially in the professional sectors of housekeeping, building trade, agriculture and certain services. As part of the Diakonische Jugendhilfe (youth welfare service) our institution has set itself the task of supporting and promoting people with disabilities in the integration into the regular labour market and enabling them to participate in the professional life. And this with a particular focus on working with young people with an autism spectrum disorder and adolescents with mental and emotional disabilities. With our ERASMUS project we would like to motivate trainees in the rehabilitation area and participants in vocational preparation through the stay abroad and show professional perspectives. A large number of our participants have severe restrictions and are mostly under the age of 18. Accompaniment by care givers is usually mandatory. We would like to impart practical and theoretical knowledge in the areas of housekeeping, building trade, agriculture and service during these stays and at the same time strengthen central key social skills that are necessary for professional integration. External learners in the vocational training of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Agriculture and from other vocational schools in a special form should take part in short and long-term mobility. Mutpol has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Lower Saxony Chamber of Agriculture (QAFP Memorandum) Apprentices or participants with completed vocational training (up to 12 months after graduation) as specialist or worker training from the 14 green professions of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Agriculture. The measures are supervised by Mutpol. For needs-based funding it is also necessary that training and further education actively work on concepts in order to teach trainees and employees manual skills and services that have practical benefits and that can be provided by people with restrictions. For our trainers, the project should be an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the concepts of partner institutions in vocational training. In this way, new impulses for suitable forms of training should be developed and implemented. The project also looks for opportunities and solutions among the partners, how to effectively advertise the service professions and how it is possible to involve people with restrictions in companies and working life in general. The partners have interesting and different approaches that make a visit valuable for trainers as well as for trainees. In addition, the fundamental problems of professional integration in the partner countries are often comparable to those in Germany, so that a mutual transfer of knowledge can be useful for both sides. The aim of the project is therefore to check the training modules offered in the partner countries and see to what extent they can be taken over for training in Germany The participating trainers and trainees should be encouraged and have the confidence to apply and pass on the knowledge they have acquired from their partners. Educational networks from the Tuttlingen and Rottweil area are working on the project. Another result of the project will be the expansion of contacts with domestic and foreign cooperation partners. This should result in a strengthening of the cooperation and a spread of the developed training programs.
