The language skills of our participants in the field of Business English should be expanded and deepened through practical and culturally authentic experiences. In addition, we are convinced that practical insights into international corporate cultures are essential in a globalized world. Our experience has shown that looking beyond one's own nose leads to a broadening of cultural horizons, which on the one hand makes European similarities apparent and on the other hand brings cultural differences and different ways of thinking to the fore. We consider this an essential part of intercultural learning. In addition, stays abroad promote the independence of the participants, as they learn to deal with problems that arise abroad using a foreign language.
Due to past mobilities and the overall internationalization process that was triggered by this, the student body and companies are increasingly asking for stays abroad including internships (often a decision-making criterion for the Kaufmännische Schule (Business School) Schwäbisch Gmünd). Many companies and trainees appreciate the opportunities for European mobility and cooperation that the Erasmus+ program at the Kaufmännische Schule (Business School) Schwäbisch Gmünd offers. Some companies send trainees to all flows and therefore cooperate with us on a regular basis. They support the project organizationally (e.g. by giving them time off) and their trainees financially. This shows that the chosen path of intensifying internationalization is unavoidable for the school as an attractive location and represents added value for dual training.
