Objectives

The Lichtenfels vocational school would like to use this project to enable its students to gain (professional) experience in the international arena and thereby develop professional skills abroad as well as to get to know new (digital) work structures and to train their language affinity. You can encourage their sensitivity to cultural differences in daily interactions. The participants improve their English language skills significantly. They expand and update their vocabulary for both everyday and job-specific situations. So they can communicate safely in English. By participating in job-specific courses, participants can significantly improve their professional knowledge and, depending on the course structure, their media skills. In addition, the stay in other European countries promotes their intercultural competence, since they can recognize and classify differences in the country-specific living and working environments. Your personality development will benefit from increased independence. Participation in the project will significantly increase their chances on the labor market.

Background

For many years, our school has enabled and encouraged both teachers and students to make international contacts and gain international experience. This is an important goal of our understanding of school quality (SQV). As part of our internationalization strategy, we maintain a large number of international partnerships. Our training companies are now active worldwide and expect us to prepare the trainees and enable them to gain relevant international experience. Professions such as e-commerce clerks, computer scientists and industrial clerks in particular are strongly influenced by digitization and international cooperation. As a model school for Industry 4.0, we are particularly challenged to teach our students the appropriate skills. The stay in other European countries gives the SuS the opportunity to expand their knowledge of English in job-specific work and everyday situations. The participants also promote their intercultural ability to act when interacting with international contacts. At the same time, they strengthen their self-confidence because they learn to master new challenges.
