Objectives

The "Berufliche Schulen Kehl" vocational schools want to achieve location-specific professionalization of teachers and learners. The Kehl vocational schools are located in the immediate vicinity of the French border. The Kehl vocational schools are a competence center for students under the age of 26 who have just come to Germany and would like to complete a “pre-qualification for work and occupation without language skills”. The students of the vocational school are taught in the dual system. In the professional environment, they usually work with employees from France (Kehl borders directly on France) or other countries or communicate with customers who come from other European countries or are even part of a non-European supply chain. • The Kehl vocational schools would like the training staff to be more open to the outside world and would like active networking. • Learners should further develop their personality through mobility and improve their ability to find their way around and move about in a new environment. • Linguistic barriers and psychological inhibitions should be overcome by taking on partners from abroad and sending them abroad, with educational staff and learners, and through positive experiences a fearless and open-minded approach should be made possible. • The competences when taking on learners from abroad should be improved. Likewise in everyday situations in an intercultural context. • The aim is to promote understanding for intercultural activities as a basis for successful Europeanization and internationalization and the gradual development of a European identity and a European awareness.

Background

Positive experience with a previous Erasmus+ project • Opportunity to give trainees an insight into a company culture that differs from that of the training company • Optimal minimum duration of the internship in comparison to other funded projects in the bilateral area • Funding rates that allow trainees who have never been abroad before to be given a chance • Maintaining contacts with other vocational schools and further developing previous project ideas • Offers for learners and educational staff to work in international working groups and to put results into practice
