Objectives

Our main goal was/is to actively support at least 250 individual VET learner annually in the years 2020-2027 in high quality and maximum budget utilization. The number of 250 VET learners per year is our many years of experience, which guarantees that these individual learning stays are realized in the best quality with existing resources. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we were unable to reach this target in the Project 2020 with 211 participants. We had more than enough interested parties, but force majeure ultimately prevented the mobilities. Nevertheless, we have continued our offer and our activities unabated. And it was worth it, because we have currently reached our pre-Corona level. Demand is steadily increasing, so we are very optimistic that we will fully achieve our goals from Project 2021. We want to inspire as many young people as possible in the region by means of attractive in-company training and qualify them as "international" specialists and "European citizens". On an international level, we strive for long-term and sustainable partnerships that guarantee us a reliably good to very good quality of stays and learning outcomes.

Background

With the mobility project www.azubi-mobil.de, the IHKPG, as a service provider and responsible body in vocational training, supports VET learner and VET staff in dual training nationwide in the organisation of VET mobilities. Internationalization, foreign languages, and intercultural competence are important for skilled workers in companies. Many of our sending training companies (usually 1 or 2 trainees) would never submit an ERASUS+ application themselves. With over 2500 individual outgoings over the past 15 years, we have made a decisive contribution to promoting the attractiveness and internationalization of in-company training and to securing "cosmopolitan" skilled workers. Through close cooperation with companies and vocational schools, as well as recommendations from former participants, we have made transnational mobility the "norm" in numerous training companies. The benefits and advantages of mobility are being recognized more and more in companies. The feedback in our participant reports or the sending companies shows that trainees return to work much more self-confident and independent after an internship abroad.
