Objectives

The project EX4VET “Vocational School of Weissenburg – work experience for VET students and teachers in Europe” put the focus on the following goals 1. Language training Linguistically dealing with professional content in English represents a major challenge for teachers and students. Language training as part of an internship abroad is therefore a perfect extension to the curriculum of both students and teachers at our school. 2. Promotion of self-competence Participants get the opportunity to become acquainted with the teaching and training curriculum and teaching methods of another company or school in a different European country and to compare, evaluate and reflect on them with their own experiences. 3. Professionalization of teaching staff Teachers improve their knowledge of the foreign language as well as their proficiency. They gain insights into the teaching and learning methods of their colleagues at the European partner schools. Special focus on: - The use of digital media that is usefully in teaching (methods and forms of organization) - The use of digital media to individualize learning processes and for differentiation within the classroom

Background

In the preface of the Bavarian curriculum for vocational schools, it is established as a central goal that as a school, we should promote young people's competence in terms of professional and individual flexibility and mobility with regard to the integration of Europe. This is a matter close to our hearts. Furthermore, the Weißenburg vocational school, in its school-specific understanding of quality, known as "SQV," has placed the language and European competence of both students and teachers at the forefront under the category of "School Process Quality." For this reason, the State Vocational School Weißenburg has been active in this field for many years and has already built a substantial network of partner institutions in Europe. The goal of this project is, within our capabilities, to provide teachers and learners with a "wider perspective" and thus contribute to personal, linguistic, and professional development. Especially with regard to teacher mobility, the school hopes for a positive effect on quality and teaching development. Exchange with European partner schools always brings an enrichment of ideas that can be implemented at our own school.
