Objectives

The objective of the mobility projects carried out was the theoretical and practical acquisition of intercultural, social, professional and linguistic competences. The FSP2/ BS21 took up the idea of travel as an instrument of professionalisation and personal development and used the structure and financial possibilities of the Erasmus+ programme for this purpose. The participants visited pedagogical institutions of early childhood education and identified quality standards and special features of the pedagogical education, care and upbringing work on site. They are confronted with a different living and working environment and are challenged to move and make contact in this environment using a foreign language. In the course of the mobility, the participants are confronted with other values and norms, which are then also reflected in early childhood education. In Sweden and Norway in particular, the participants experience early childhood education that is based on high social esteem and offers very good framework conditions for children, the educational staff and the parents and thus represents a kind of "best practice" for the educational work in Germany.

Background

Multiculturalism - the coexistence of different cultures is normality today in the course of globalisation, especially in Hamburg. Europe is growing together and with it an awareness of the opportunities offered by an environment characterised by cultural diversity. This is also noticeable in the everyday school life FSP2/BS21, where the cultural heterogeneity of the student body is seen as an opportunity and used as an occasion for intensive intercultural exchange in the context of projects and activities. The cultural and linguistic diversity of the student body at FSP2/BS21, as well as working with and in transcultural groups and institutions, requires an intensive examination of the conditions of migration, multilingualism and inclusion. FSP2/BS21 has taken this as an opportunity to initiate encounters and mobility measures for pupils and teachers in Europe. This project cycle was marked by the special nature of the Corona pandemic and the Ukraine war, which had an influence on the choice of mobility projects and locations.
