The exchanges were intended to stimulate the development of new perspectives and to get to know other approaches to European profession-specific tasks in a transnational context. Special attention should be paid to the challenges posed by demographic change in the various European metropolises. New techniques and areas of experience should be internalized. Reflection across national borders should enable innovative processes and the promotion of key competencies. The transnational exchange of experiences in the field of the disadvantaged persons and the promotion of (learning) disabled young people as well as a cross-generational development of social security systems and ways of life creates the prerequisite for an optimization of work and education in the own country. These competencies include personal, interpersonal as well as intercultural competencies and concern all forms of behavior that enable participants to take part in social and professional life in an efficient and constructive manner and, if necessary, to resolve conflicts. These competencies come especially in an increasingly heterogeneous society. These competencies equip individuals to participate fully in the European transformation of the educational process, based on knowledge of social and political concepts and structures and a commitment to active and democratic participation.
The objective of the project was to provide the beneficiaries with competences, experience and knowledge about country-specific, educational and socio-political framework conditions. This was done through mutual detailed information about the nature and functioning of the project partners, collection of cooperation and exchange opportunities, preparation and implementation of of an exchange project for disadvantaged and learning disabled young people between the project partners in the field of vocational rehabilitation as well as school and vocational training by means of practical projects in the fields of gastronomy/hotel industry, horticulture, handicraft, office, e-learning and the transnational exchange of trainees.
