Working in a multi-professional team from different ethnic groups becomes a challenge. More and more patients with a migration background needs nursing care, with whom the students come into contact during their practical training. In the internship abroad, the students experience get in touch what it means to be a migrant. In addition, the internships abroad increase the attractiveness of our nursing-school as a training place. For many applicants, the internship abroad is the decisive factor in applying for an apprenticeship at our nursing-school. In addition, the diversity of the nursing profession is presented across borders through the internship abroad. The professional exchange regarding professional problems among the students in the internship leads to solutions in the European context, these are discussed after the internship in the classes, which next go abroad. Another aspect is the informal learning of our students at the internship site, which entails an expansion of their social and personal skills. Furthermore, the professional competence of the students is increased.
