The aim was to enable trainees and students to do an internship abroad and to get to know foreign cultures and ways of working, thus increasing acceptance and tolerance towards them. The stay enables the participants to develop professionally, linguistically and personally. They can get to know new working methods, techniques and processes and qualify for the international labour market. Furthermore, intercultural competences can be expanded. Another goal was to expand the cooperation with vocational and technical schools and thus further sharpen our profile as an education partner.

The mission of Bits & Grips gemeinnützige GmbH is to promote youth welfare, education and vocational training. Through personal experience and discussions with companies and school institutions, we recognised a need for support in organising internships abroad for trainees and submitted an initial application for a pool-like project in 2018. The response to this has encouraged us to continue along this path and to implement a real pool project and to support trainees and vocational students nationwide in carrying out an internship abroad.
