Objectives

A long-term goal is the further Europeanisation of the KBWR. The top priority is to involve the vocational college in international exchanges in order to support the participants in the development of their professional, personal and social action competence. The international mobilities enable them to actively shape the development of society and the economy. Learners gain practical experience abroad, teachers develop with regard to internationalisation and digitalisation. Our students learn how to deal confidently with people from different cultures. The objective is to master social/communicative situations in everyday professional life. In addition to improving personal competence with regard to organisational/team skills, language competence is also developed. The international exchange increases the chances on the job market. Our learners and teachers are multipliers for more internationalisation. As desired by the Düsseldorf District Government and the NRW Ministry of Education, KBWR implements the European idea in school life and is thus another school in which Europe can be experienced.

Background

With our project "Mobility without borders - job-related, intercultural, learning goal-oriented" (Mo-Bil 4), we would like to further integrate our vocational college into European work. Our trainees and students as well as our educational staff should be enabled to actively help shaping an increasingly international society and economy in a work-related, intercultural and learning goal-oriented context by participating in the project. The acquisition of so-called soft skills, the improvement of intercultural competence as well as the readiness for lifelong learning is an important prerequisite for our students and educational staff for their future professional activities. KBWR is a commercial vocational college in the north of Duisburg, directly adjacent to the Marxloh district. The vast majority of students (approx. 81.5%) are trainees in the dual system. Many cooperating training companies welcome opportunities for mobility as a possible career perspective for their trainees. Many trainees and students in this region often do not have the financial means to gain professional and foreign language qualifications abroad.
