Objectives

1. Increasing the competitiveness of our graduates Our industry is international, fashion and design services are commissioned worldwide, but are also subject to special regional requirements and aesthetic preferences. International perspectives and networks are essential for a successful entry into the world of work. 2. Competence progression of our teaching staff The fast pace of design trends and technologies constantly challenges the skills of our staff members. Mobilities of teachers help to close the looming gap between educational training and the reality of everyday work. 3. Evolution of digital skills at school and at work For us, driving digitization profitably means: no blanket replacement for analog, but intelligent use where resources can be saved. Specifically, this means close contact with global employers and visiting international trade fairs and conferences. 4. Regenerative design We want to give our trainees skills that enable them to work regeneratively, i.e. to master projects that treat people and the environment in such a way that the natural balance is not disturbed.

Background

The most important challenge in our professional field (fashion and design) is the fast pace of the industry. Both the tools (manual and digital) and the evolutions and trends on which these industries depend, are changing rapidly. Areas of tension between analogue and digital as well as local and global determine our everyday work. Professional positions and strategic developments can only be successfully determined with precise knowledge of these relationships. We want to meet these challenges with an internationalization concept that 1. guarantees the competitiveness of our graduates, 2. Stimulates and supports the ongoing competence progression of our teaching staff, and 3. Produces graduates for whom 'digitization' and 'sustainability' do not remain empty phrases, but become lived concepts in their daily work. The basis of these goals is the »European perspective«: Opening up to people from other countries, immersing oneself in foreign language regions and new team cultures and working environments will help us to live up to our responsibility to help shape the world creatively.
