International tourism, but also colleagues from all over the world, require hotel professionals to have a good knowledge of English and intercultural skills in order to ensure flawless communication, but also to look after foreign guests according to their needs and situation. Industrial clerks also deal with international customers, suppliers and colleagues in everyday business, which makes language and cultural awareness essential for this professional group as well. Unfortunately, the training companies have been reporting for years that the language level in the business context of the trainees is not sufficient and the barrier to daring to speak English is becoming higher and higher. The teacher service regulations also require what is noticeable in everyday teaching: practical experience from everyday company life is essential in order to be able to convey teaching content competently and realistically. Subject-related internships for teachers are therefore required at regular intervals. If these are carried out abroad, it enables the teacher not only to gain professional insights but also to expand cultural and linguistic skills for the design of the lessons.
