Background

At BFW Köln, people who are no longer able to carry out their professional activities after an illness/accident develop new perspectives through vocational retraining (training with IHK/HWK qualification). The Berufskolleg Michaelshoven (BK) offers young people practical training in social professions. The BFW/BK participants/employees are to meet the demands of the labour market with new impulses. They can gain valuable work experience abroad, improve foreign language skills, develop self-confidence, motivation and occupational mobility. We expected an improvement in the employability of the learners through higher resilience, self-efficacy, adaptability and local flexibility to take up work. The work of the education staff should be oriented towards developments on the European labour market through job shadowing and lead to a willingness to change in education and integration work. Mobilities with experts should promote operational development, e.g. in the field of eHealth. Innovative, labour market and integration-oriented further developments should secure our position as an attractive provider on the European labour and education market.
