Objectives

Mobility industrial clerks: Participants should deepen and broaden their general and specialized English skills during their three-week stay at the European College of Business and Management (ECBM) in Dublin and London. The project-based work is designed to promote independent work, mastery of presentation techniques and team spirit. These are skills that are essential in today's working world. Overall, their understanding of an international business environment will be enhanced. In addition, participants will gain important intercultural experience. We expect a rise of self-confidence and an increase in self-esteem, also with a view to their future professional life. Combined with this, the project should be a nudge for further lifelong learning and reduce the inhibition concerning experiences abroad. Education personnel: On the way to transforming the metal department into the age of "Industry 4.0", education personnel should expand their English vocabulary and get to grips with new technologies as well as with the culture of foreign countries. Important practical experience is to be gained for their own teaching.

Background

Mobility for industrial clerks: English is included in the curriculum for industrial clerks as a one-hour subject. More and more industrial trainees are confronted with English-language communication in the workplace. The increasing globalization and internationalization also require an international qualification of our students. This can best be experienced and thus learned authentically on site. This project is specifically designed to support trainees who have not had the opportunity to do so in the past and, in particular, have hardly been able to participate in European exchange programs. This is in line with the principles of the mission statement of the Vocational School Center Günzburg. Educational staff: The industrial training of the metal department of the Günzburg State Vocational School Center is exceptionally confronted with the technological challenges of "Industry 4.0" and digitalization. In order to meet all these tasks, educational personnel are to be sent to Nordic countries that train, educate and produce at a very high level in the areas of digitalization and Industry 4.0.
