Objectives

The main objective was to enable disadvantaged students from the August Sander School to take part in an internship abroad lasting several weeks. In addition, our goal was to strengthen the participants in their personalities and thus increase their chances on the job market.

Background

As a vocational school with a special educational task, we have the task of supporting students in all areas. In particular, an internship abroad represents a special promotion within the framework of vocational education. In addition to learning another language, the participants also become acquainted with another culture, and a stay abroad also contributes to personal education and empowerment. All students of the August-Sander-Schule are disadvantaged students, either because of their social background or because of their intellectual abilities. They could not manage a stay abroad on their own, i.e. without school participation. Due to this fact, we have carried out this project.
